Rasi Harper is a license master barber also calls Brooklyn’s Flatbush his hometown, rising up like his brother did to bigger and better things in a fairly short period of time.
Rasi is as big on strengthening his community as his brother and counterpart Tafari, with an additional passion for cutting hair. with a mission that stretches far beyond great haircuts. Harper leads the charge on all things outreach.
He launched the instant-success “Before & After” program, offering free haircuts to the homeless, veterans and local people in need. Before & After sets out to thank veterans for their service, and to give a fresh cut to those who aren’t able to have one often. This unique outreach program goes down on the first Sunday of every month.
Rasi’s combined passion for cutting hair and doing good for his community has inspired him to begin developing an apprentice program. The apprentice program will train young local talent to be some of the best barbers in New York’s Capital Region and beyond.
Another future-minded project on Rasi’s workstream these days: The Barber Bus. Someday soon, Harper will have a fully-mobile barbershop. The bus will allow Harper and his crew to take fresh cuts and their Before & After mission on the road, across the local community and beyond. The bus will head state to state!
